Integrated Listening System (iLs)
The Integrated Listening System (iLs) is a therapeutic intervention that combines auditory stimulation, movement, and cognitive activities to support brain integration and enhance overall functioning. It is based on principles of neuroplasticity, using specially processed music delivered through air and bone conduction headphones to stimulate multiple sensory pathways simultaneously. The music is acoustically modified to stimulate specific areas of the brain and auditory system with shifting of low and high frequencies that challenge the ear-brain connection, training the auditory system to adapt and improving neural flexibility.
The iLs targets the auditory, vestibular, and visual system and uses movement to target motor coordination skills.
Auditory input: Music is acoustically modified to emphasize frequency ranges linked to auditory processing, language, and emotional regulation.
Vestibular & Movement activities: Core and balance exercises engage the vestibular system, improving body awareness, motor planning, and bilateral coordination.
Visual activities: Visual exercises promote attention, focus, and eye-hand coordination skills
If you are interested in learning more about the iLs program, please talk to your treating therapist or contact our clinic office.
**Please make sure you are under the supervision of a qualified trained therapist when using the iLS or other Listening Programs.
